Create Coupons (Discount Rules)
Coupons control how a discount works—percentage off, fixed amount, a free gift, or an account‑level perk. In the next step you’ll create Coupon Codes so clients can actually redeem them.
1 Open Billing Setup → Coupons
Left menu → Settings → Billing Setup → Coupons Click Add Coupon.
2 Nickname & visibility
| Field | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Nickname | “Spring Sale 2025” | Internal; keeps your list tidy |
| Usable by | Customers / Admin only / Archive | Who can apply it |
3 Choose the discount type
Turn one or more switches on:
| Switch | What it does |
|---|---|
| Percentage / Fixed Amount | 10 % OFF or $5 OFF |
| Free Gift(s) | Auto‑adds a bundle or variant at no charge |
| Apply Account Coupon After Purchase | Gives the client an account coupon the moment they buy |
Tip – combine offers: 10 % OFF plus a free gift is totally fine.
4 Add restrictions (optional)
| Restriction | Use when you… |
|---|---|
| Applies only to specific items | The discount must be in the cart with certain products/bundles |
| Minimum order value | Make sure the basket is at least e.g. $50 |
| Limit redemptions per customer | Each client can use it N times |
| First order only | Great for new‑client offers |
| Redeems only once | Perfect for one‑time welcome credits |
Toggle a restriction on and fill in the field(s) that appear below it.
5 Account‑level coupons
Turn Redeemable on Account on if this discount should stick to the client’s account and automatically apply to future orders/subscriptions (good for loyalty perks). Leave it off for classic single‑checkout coupons.
6 Save
Click Save. The coupon now appears in your list, but nobody can use it until you create one or more Codes (next page).
