Create Event Categories
Why use categories? They colour‑code your calendar, make it easier to scan, and let clients filter for what they want—e.g. Yoga, Pilates, Workshops.
1 Open Calendar Setup → Categories
Left menu → Settings → Calendar Setup → Categories Click Add Category.
2 Name the category
Field | Example |
---|---|
Category Title | “Hot Yoga”, “Kids Class”, “Workshop” |
The name shows in the calendar filter and in any list views.
3 Pick a colour
- Click one of the colour circles.
- Already‑used colours are greyed out; hover to see which category owns it.
- The colour appears as the event’s background in your calendar and in client emails.
If your brand uses dark‑mode inversion, the system automatically chooses a readable text colour.
4 Optional settings
Toggle | What it does |
---|---|
Show in “Filter by category” dropdown | Hide a category from clients but keep it for admin use (e.g. staff meetings) |
Leaderboard score (only if you enabled the Dashboard leaderboard) | How many points a client earns for attending this category |
5 Save
Click Save. Your new category is now available:
- In the event editor so you can tag classes
- As a colour on the calendar
- In the client-side Filter by category menu (if enabled)
Tip: reorder colours
The first category you create isn’t locked to grey. Feel free to edit categories later to fine‑tune your palette.
